One of our publicity clients, David Myles, just delivered the news that he won in the International Songwriting Competition for the Folk / Singer-Songwriter category! This contest is open to songwriters and musicians worldwide and the judges for this year included artists such as Tom Waits, Brian Wilson, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Pixies' Frank Black, The Cure's Robert Smith, Roseanne Cash and more and a panel of industry pros. UPDATE: I just read the press release, and According to competition officials, they received almost 15,000 entries from 88 countries worldwide, representing all genres of contemporary music.
